Áine Kerr is the co-founder and COO of Kinzen; a company building products to help people connect with quality news and information. She is a Fellow of the Punch Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program in Columbia University, New York City.
She was awarded Irish Tatler Woman of the Year in Media in 2018 and awarded a DCU Alumni Award in 2020 in recognition of her achievements. She was shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019 by Women Mean Business and participated in the 2019 Going for Growth programme sponsored by Enterprise Ireland and KPMG.

Áine Kerr is a former news reporter with The Irish Times, political reporter with The Irish Examiner and political correspondent with The Irish Independent. She spent five years working with Storyful, the world’s first social media news agency, and was appointed Managing Editor at the time of the company’s acquisition by News Corporation.

She went on to become Facebook’s global Manager of Journalism Partnerships in New York City, helping to create the Facebook Journalism Project and News Integrity Initiative. She presented RTÉ Radio One’s The Business on four occasions in 2019. She has a Masters of Journalism from Dublin City University (DCU).

Executive Coach:
Empowering women

Áine Kerr has completed an Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching with Kingstown College and is currently awaiting her accreditation with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). She was awarded Woman of the Year in Media 2018 by Irish Tatler Magazine and has mentored young entrepreneurs as part of the Patch Accelerator in Dog Patch Labs, Poynter’s Leadership Academy for Women and coached a number of women seeking career changes and promotions. Áine is featured in a chapter of ‘The Day That Changed my Life’ by Caitlin McBride.

Áine Kerr has spoken at major conferences around the world including Web Summit, Inspirefest, Women in Tech Summit, Facebook’s F8 Developer Conference, the Online News Association conference, the Festival of Journalism, Newsgeist by Google and Knight Foundation, Facebook’s Community Journalism conference, Storyology, News Impact summits and more.
She has appeared before the International Grand Committee on Disinformation and ‘Fake News’ and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in NYC on how to tackle misinformation and disinformation.
She has lectured at Dublin Business School and the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women.

Sharing expertise

Áine Kerr is an advisor to the Institute for Future of Media and Journalism (Fujo), as well as being the co-founder of Online News Association (ONA) Ireland. She is part of the The GovLab 100 Questions Initiative based out of New York University (NYU). Áine Kerr is also a member of the European Council’s committee of experts on quality journalism in the digital age and a member of the Global Future Council on Media, Entertainment and Culture for 2019-2020 term which serves as a brain trust for the World Economic Forum (WEF).
